Office of Science Salutes New IEEE Fellows

Two researchers from the Department of Energy's (DOE's) Office of Science have been elected Fellows of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a professional association for individuals who are contributing or working in a technology or engineering field.

Each year, new members are honored with nomination by their peers for their high level of demonstrated, extraordinary accomplishment.

The new IEEE Fellows in the DOE's Office of Science are:

  • Chen-Nee Chuah - University of California-Davis, affiliated with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory: contributions to MIMO communications and network management.
  • Nachappa Gopalsami - Argonne National Laboratory, recently retired: contributions to millimeter-wave spectroscopy, imaging, and reflectometry.

The Office of Science is the single largest supporter of basic research in the physical sciences in the United States and is working to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time. For more information please visit http://science.energy.gov.
