Dr. Jane G. Zhu is the program manager of the Electron and Scanning Probe Microscopies (formerly known as Structure and Composition of Materials) program.
She came to BES in 2002 and served as program manager for the Synthesis and Processing Science program from 2002 to 2004. She held research associate appointments at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory before joining the faculty of the Physics Department at New Mexico State University.
Dr. Zhu has over 15 years of research experience in materials science. Her research interests include atomic and electronic structures of nanostructured and advanced materials, electron and scanning probe microscopy, materials synthesis and characterizations, interface science, correlation of microstructure and physical properties, and applications of ion beams for materials fabrication and analysis. She has published over 80 scientific papers and presented numerous talks at national and international scientific conferences.
