Ivan Graff
Major Initiatives
Ivan Graff has provided management for the Electron-Ion Collider, Facility for Rare Isotope Beams Construction, High Rigidity Spectrometer, and Ton-scale Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay projects for the Office of Nuclear Physics since September 2020.
Prior to joining the Office of Nuclear Physics, he led the Office of Policy and Program Support in the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Project Management from 2017 to 2020 where he and his staff curated the DOE library of orders and guides related to project management. From 2015 to 2016, he served as a large facilities advisor at the National Science Foundation on projects as varied as the initial acquisition of the National Ecological Observatory Network and upgrades to two detectors located at the Large Hadron Collider. His federal service began in 2002. He has held additional positions at the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Smithsonian Institution, and in the DOE Office of Management. Prior to his federal service, he held facilities management and project engineer positions at the University of Maryland College Park and at an environmental consulting firm.
Ivan Graff received a M.S. in civil engineering (project management) from the University of Maryland College Park. He holds professional engineer licensure in the State of Maryland and has several certifications including certified cost professional, certified facility manager, and LEED-AP.
