Franklin Regional Senior High School - Western Pennsylvania Regional High School Science Bowl
Coach Susan LeDonne is a gifted education teacher at Franklin Regional senior High School. She has been a teacher for the past 22 years, and a gifted support teacher for 16 years. This is Franklin Regional's fourth year competing in the NSB, and their first year going to the finals! Coach LeDonne has lived her whole life in Pittsburgh, after attending Vanderbilt University for college, and Duquesne University for graduate school. When not in school, Coach LeDonne enjoys traveling to Italy and Rehoboth Beach, cooking, reading, gardening, and taking her dogs to the park! She is working on learning to speak Italian!
Max Wang is a senior at Franklin Regional senior high school. He is the captain of the Franklin Regional swim team and mathletes team. Max is a member of Science Olympiad, co-president of the National Science Bowl club, and president of National Science Honors Society. Max plans on attending UPenn or Berkeley next year. His favorite aspect of science is solving complex physics problems.
Urvish Jain is a junior at Franklin Regional senior High School. Urvish is the co-president of the National Science Bowl team, a member of Science Olympiad team, as well as playing on the tennis team. When not in school, Urvish enjoys playing Warzone and other video games and sleeping.
Darius Colangelo is a sophomore at Franklin Regional High School. In school, he plays the snare drum for the wind ensemble and the marching band. He is also on the mathletes team as well as the FRHS robotics team. Outside of school, he is a member of his church youth group and is a Boy Scout. Darius enjoys physics most of all the branches of science.
Praneel Varshney is a sophomore at Franklin Regional senior High school in Pennsylvania. He is president and captain of the Science Olympiad team and vice-president of the National Science Bowl team. He enjoys sports and music by playing for the school soccer and tennis teams, playing percussion for the wind ensemble and marching band, and playing piano. His favorite subjects are math and science, but he especially enjoys earth science, biology, and physics. You can also find him indulging in gaming with friends.
Atharva Mayekar is a junior at Franklin Regional High School, and this was his first year competing in NSB. Atharva’s favorite subjects in school are math and computer science. His favorite subjects in science are physics and chemistry. Outside of school, he plays tennis and enjoys playing video games with his friends. He also enjoys watching other sports, such as soccer and football.
