Kristine McDaniel, Coach
Coach Kristine McDaniel has been teaching chemistry in the suburbs of Dayton, Ohio for twenty eight years and has coached Science Bowl for approximately twenty years. She has lived in Burkina Faso, Switzerland and the United States. Coach McDaniel’s bachelor’s degree is in chemistry from Earlham College and her master’s in education from Wright State University. At home, the science continues in the form of gardening and making sourdough, idli and other foods from scratch. Leisure reading, however, is strictly swords and/or magic.
Shourjo Ganguli
Shourjo Ganguli is a senior at Beavercreek High School. He is part of many extracurricular activities, including TARC, Academic Team, and Science Bowl. Shourjo loves a variety of scientific subjects but especially enjoys learning about biology. In his free time, Shourjo enjoys reading, watching sports, and spending time with friends. He will be majoring in neuroscience at The Ohio State University and wants to eventually become a doctor or medical researcher.
James Leishman
James Leishman is a sophomore at Beavercreek High School. At school, he participates in tennis, marching band, regular band, science bowl, and academic team. This is his first year doing science bowl and he is thrilled to have such a successful season and be on the A team. He loves learning about many things, but he especially loves geology, space, and chemistry as they are his favorite science subjects. His favorite film series is Star Wars, and he loves to do trivia on the subject, read comic books and watch movies. James plays the piano and the saxophone at a competent level and loves to mess around on both. He also has an insatiable appetite for sugar and other simple carbohydrates.
