Subella Augustine, Coach
Coach Subella Augustine is a parent coach who is working with the Community Middle School Science Bowl team for the first time. She is a software engineer by profession. Coach Augustine loves the outdoors, traveling to different countries and trying different cuisines. She also enjoys playing badminton, ping pong and chess.
Aldric Benalan
Aldric Benalan is currently an eighth-grader and has started the Science Bowl program at his school, captaining it. This is the first year that his school has participated in Science Bowl. He is a committed member of his school’s Science Olympiad team, competing for three years. He is a generalist for his team but specializes in earth & space science, biology, physics, and most notably, energy. He is also heavily involved and interested in math, computer science, asian history, and geography. He has participated in various olympiad competitions (American Mathematics Competition, F=ma, US Earth Science Team , USA Astronomy and Astrophysics Camp), and has enjoyed the experiences. In his free time, he likes to play chess, Protobowl, Geoguessr, and read Wikipedia articles. His favorite chemical reaction is the Favorskii rearrangement. His favorite genre of music is K-pop, and his favorite K-pop group is TWICE. His teammates believe that he is neither a weakly interacting nor a strongly interacting massive particle, but a massive compact halo object.
Rithik Gumpu
Rithik Gumpu is an eighth-grader at Community Middle School who is interested in math, computer science, and physics. In his free time, he likes playing sports and video games, as well as creating games through the platform, Unity. Over the course of 2021 and 2022, Rithik qualified for American Invitational Mathematics Examination and MATHCOUNTS Nationals. He hopes to create a world-changing idea for the future that will alter the perception of life for people forever. He also plans to research a career in computer science and machine learning. In his free time, he likes to do track, play chess, and watch funny videos on YouTube.
Akshat Saravana Prakash
Akshat Saravana Prakash is an eighth-grader who is interested in physics, computer science and chemistry. In his free time, he likes playing sports, and solving physics problems. Over the course of 2021 to 2022, Akshat participated in Science Olympiad and placed at states. He hopes to learn more physics and get involved in more competitions. He enjoys solving physics problems, reading theories and playing video games.
Arjun Avineni
Arjun Avineni is an eighth-grader at Community Middle School who is interested in math, computer science, chemistry, and physics. He also hopes to learn more about technology and computer science. Arjun has also participated and competed in his school's Science Olympiad team for two years. During his free time, he likes to go outside, play sports such as soccer, and watch videos on youtube. He also enjoys playing many board games, puzzles, and other mind involving games.
