Edward Wang, Coach
Coach Edward Wang is a parent volunteer who coaches his sons' Science Bowl team. Coach Wang grew up in Illinois (Libertyville) and attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology studying engineering and economics. Coach Wang works as Chief Technology Officer and an independent consultant, mostly in software development. He has a wife (Susan) and two children (Joshua and Matthew), both of whom love math and science. Coach Wang is a fan of the Bears, Cubs, and Bulls. He also enjoys playing strategy games, whether it is a board game or computer game.
Matthew Wang
Matthew Wang is an eighth-grader. He plays the piano, trumpet, golf, and tennis. His favorite subject is science and loves the Science Bee. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, skateboarding, Minecraft, legos, and origami. During the summer, Matthew also loves to go to the beach and the family’s lake house in Canada.
Vaidehi Ramachandrula
Vaidehi Ramachandrula is an eighth-grader who is fascinated with astronomy. She loves learning different languages, and can fluently speak Telugu. In addition, she is currently learning Spanish and Sanskrit. Vaidehi loves physical activities. She is interested in badminton, taekwondo, and yoga. She is a black belt in taekwondo. Her favorite recreational activity is Indian classical dance (Bharatanatyam), which she has been learning for almost eight years! It is not only exercise for her, but it also keeps her connected to her culture. Vaidehi loves having fun and hanging out with her friends! Apart from that, she is also very adept in Carnatic Sangeetham (Indian classical singing). Her goal is to help society. She believes that girls should be encouraged more in the STEM field, and wants to work towards it. She is a frequent traveler and is very adventurous. She has traveled to two of the seven wonders and plans to go to more!
Vinayak Menon
Vinayak Menon is an eight-grader. His favorite subjects are math and science. He has a great passion for playing chess and plays competitively. In his free time, Vinayak enjoys programming, reading, and watching fiction movies. He also enjoys outdoor sports and Minecraft. He plans to train to play competitive tennis.
Louis Liu
Louis Liu is an eighth-grader at Wisconsin Hills Middle School. His favorite subjects are math and science, and he enjoys participating in math competitions. He likes to play the trumpet, piano, tennis, and table tennis. In his free time, he enjoys watching YouTube, playing video games, programming, and messing with electronics. Louis also enjoys going hiking and biking in the summer.
Jaytin Gummadi
Jaytin Gummadi is an eighth-grader from Wisconsin Hills Middle School. He enjoys tennis, geography, history, legos and Xbox, notably Grand Theft Auto V. He enjoys visiting India during the summers to see family. He is interested in the world of business and finance. He is fond of academic competitions for their ability to mentally challenge and work under pressure. He likes Science Bowl for the varied question sets and geographical elements.
